In early august, I headed up to my hometown of Bellingham for Shelby & Joe’s engagement session at Larrabee State Park! They are tying the knot next year in Seabrook and wanted to do waterfront adventure engagement photos as a nod to their waterfront wedding venue. These two really stepped out of their comfort zones as a self proclaimed ‘camera shy couple.’ We started their photoshoot by hiking down to the rocky bluffs that overlook the San Juan Islands. They climbed over sandstone with crashing waves below while the sea spray whipped her hair into beautiful mermaid waves. After a quick outfit change, we strolled the beach and did more adventuring amongst the burbling sound of lapping waves.

I highly recommend checking out Larrabee State Park for camping or just a day trip adventure— it’s such a gorgeous location!
